The Flop, The Turn, The River… That’s Poker, Folks
I’ve been playing poker for a number of years now, both online and offline, but I have to say that I have never in my life been so annoyed by a poker program. Get ready for a rant, or, more or less — an angry review.

PKR, which can be downloaded from PKR.com has got to be the single most ridiculous program I have ever used in my life. It’s unlike most online poker sites / programs where the game mainly revolves around poker itself. PKR isn’t like this — it’s pretty much an avatar-based poker game. What I mean is this: you can create a character, make some interesting attire changes (if you actually have PKR points) and when you’re playing, flirt, insult, or chat with other players.
All of this sounds good in theory, but he really hurts the game. More often than not I find myself at a table where some dumbass keeps pressing the same button over and over again, making his character should the words “loser” or “oh my god”, or my personal favourite “LMAO”, which sets off a pathetic laugh track. Honestly, it’s annoying as hell.

Indeed, most of the people who play this game are too annoying for words and in most cases don’t know how to play and will end up going all-in with a hand like ten-four off-suit. Ten-four off-suit? Dude, that’s the kind of hand which would throw 1989 World Series of Poker champion Phil Hellmuth into one of his trade-mark tantrums.
Believe me, going all-in with ACE KING — Big Slick — and having someone call with ten-four PRE-FLOP — yeah, it’s not fun. If you end up losing… well…
You can only imagine what would happen if Mike Matusow or Phil Hellmuth took that bad beat? The difference is, in that video, the all-in was a bluff-gone-wrong — in PKR everything which should go wrong goes right way too often. Mike buddy Compton Effect (Callam) and I have a theory about PKR always favouring the lower-percentage hand. We don’t know for sure, but we have good reason to suspect it.
It’s not all bad, though. I have to admit that the tournaments seem to run okay (when people aren’t being retards) and the game can be smooth-playing. With this being said, PKR isn’t the best for tournaments, although there are a lot of them.

The reason I say this is because most tournaments are 50-man, 150-man and 150-500. Free rolls are the worst though, where most tournaments normally have 2000 people and playing PKR for a tournament takes a LONG time. I mean, a LONG time. People are slow to bet, check, fold, or call. It can take upwards of eight hours for tournaments to finish — if you manage to make it that far.
In closing, PKR is by far the worst poker program I have ever used. I strongly advise you stay clear of it. And, for the love of God, don’t support shit like this.
